Henry A. Hendricks, Visual Poet, Dreamery Studio

Dreamery Studio is owned by Master Photographer Henry Hendricks. Henry works in the mediums of fine art photography, including portraits, traditional art (pastels, water color and sculpture) and in digital art (manipulations, creative retouching and graphic design.)

Henry has worked in photography and art for many years, yet just recently has decided to go commercial with his talents. He is focusing more on the visual poetry side of art and seeks to take his creative work out of the realm of ordinary to the extraordinary. His art is unique and iconic.

In his life Henry has lived through interesting times. He was living as a child in Alabama during civil right marches, lived in Florida as his father worked on the Apollo Moon Program, Henry grew up in Waco, Texas where he briefly learned how to ride a bull. In school Henry studied photojournalism and photography, criminal justice (B.S.) and gained a Masters of Divinity after serving as tank commander in the U.S. Army. For 22 years Henry was a minister in the United Church of Christ where he met thousands of people each with their own story. It was in the church that he got to work for a day with the singer Willie Nelson. All of these experiences and more he considers the lines of poetry of his life’s journey, which shape and influences his art.

Over the last few years Henry has been living his dream as he has worked with international fashion models, rock bands, circus performers, burlesque troupes, knights, fire dancers, and even a hobo queen. One of his most fascinating days happened when Tim, an insurance agent by day and renaissance knight in the summer came in to pose. Henry said “Tim was nearly 7 feet tall and was dressed in a full suit of armor. He was quite impressive standing there as he swung his five foot sword. I sure wouldn’t want to face him in a battle.” Henry helped him take off the armor and learned how much work it was for a knight to get ready for battle.

Henry is hard at work building his studio photography and art business. Henry has had showings in three art galleries and 12 art shows, including a fun one named Booze and Pancakes. He has won numerous awards in online competition. Henry continues to produce fine art for display, show and sale.

The works on this site are for sale as prints, either on archival paper, canvas or on metal. Dreamery Studio also accepts commissions and will make you a custom portrait.
